How You Can Help

You can make a difference

The Irving Park Community Food Pantry relies on weekly volunteers to serve our clients. Some areas of need are: interviewing clients, translating, filling bags of food, unloading and sorting food deliveries, helping clients shop, driving for homebound deliveries, helping with special events and fundraising, managing special holiday distributions, grant writing and administrative office duties. We also award court-ordered community service hours as well as service hours for students. If you are interested, please click the volunteer button below or email volunteer@irvingparkfoodpantry.org

DONATE

Food Donation: We accept nonperishable food donations whose expiration date has not passed. These can be put into our gray dropbox by the front door if small. Take larger donations to one of our dropoff locations or email info@irvingparkfoodpantry.org to make arrangements for a delivery.

Non-food Donations: We are always looking for donations of toiletries (especially shampoo, deodorant, body wash, toothbrushes & toothpaste and razors & shaving cream). Contact-free donations can be made via our Amazon registry. Please send donations to the address indicated, not directly to the Pantry.

We also are frequently in need of donations of pet food, especially dry cat food. Contact-free donations can be made via our Amazon registry or at Chewy.com. Please send donations to the address indicated, not directly to the Pantry.

For other locally purchased non-food donations, please contact info@irvingparkfoodpantry.org to arrange a delivery.

Please note: We cannot accept clothing, shoes, used toys, partially used toiletries, opened packages or any household items.

Donations can be dropped off at the Big Helpers store at 4184 N. Elston Ave. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or the front porch at 3912 N. Kenneth Ave. any time.
