Special Distribution Days are events that are meant to be an added bonus to our clients. These days usually require extra help from volunteers, and always depend on the generosity of donations from the surrounding community.
- School Supplies – In August we distribute packets of school supplies. Items needed are: looseleaf notebook paper, spiral notebooks, pocket folders, black or blue pens, washable markers, colored pencils, #2 pencils, pencil cases, crayons, erasers, glue and glue sticks, rulers (marked inches & centimeters). Donations of school supplies are always welcome.
- Christmas Gifts – The pantry collects new toys and money to purchase toys so our clients may choose gifts for their children 12 years and younger.
- Coat Drive – Every October, the pantry collects gently used coats for men, women and children to give to our client families. Please contact the pantry to find out when coat donations begin.
- Easter Distribution – Three weeks preceding Easter the pantry distributes Easter baskets for the children of regular, eligible clients. This event is sponsored by the congregation of Irving Park United Methodist Church, as well as other surrounding churches.
