JOIN US SATURDAY, JULY 25th, at 2 p.m. as we dedicate the new community garden at Irving Park United Methodist Church (corner of Grace and Keeler). The Serenity Garden will provide herbs to the Irving Park Community Food Pantry. This is Phase I of a multi-year project to expand the current supply of organic vegetables to the pantry, working in conjunction with Carlson Community Services’ Three Brothers Garden (located at Irving Park Lutheran Church). Seed money is being made available through ongoing support from the FDC Foundation that provides funding specific to providing healthy, fresh food options to pantry clients. Learn from specialists how to cook with herbs, grow organic produce, garden with a green mind and thumb. This will be a fun and educational Garden Party you won’t want to miss! If you would like to help by taking a rotation on the watering schedule, do some weeding, donate supplies or funds, or help with the event on July 25, please contact: Vicci Rodgers or call 773-283-6296. Thanks to all who have been part of this project already! Remember: Saturday, July 25th, from 2 – 4 p.m.
