Congratulations to Gerry Calderone, the Irving Park Food Pantry’s Volunteer of the 2013/2014 Year! Gerry has volunteered at the Pantry for five years and has done a number of jobs, including working a variety of food stations and serving as line leader. We appreciate all her hard work on our behalf! Her honor was presented by Volunteer Manager Lee Stein and Executive Director John Psiharis on Wednesday at Mirabell Restaurant & Lounge, which hosted our Annual Volunteer luncheon. Everyone had a great time and had a great lunch, and we thank them for their support.
Thank you to the folks at Fossil who volunteered to work at the Pantry in April. They put together food bags, cut up boxes and helped out in other stations all day. This is the second year they’ve volunteered.
SAVE THE DATE!
The Food Pantry will hold a 30th anniversary celebration (we opened in April 1984) on the afternoon of Sunday, July 20th at the Irving Park United Methodist Church at 3801 N. Keeler, our home base. More details to come on our Facebook page and this website.
